1. Who we are

Inkwell Blot ("we", "us", "our") is a link management platform operated as part of the Inkwell Toolkit. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@inkwelltools.com.

2. What we collect

• Account information: your email address when you register, and your name if you provide it.
• Content you create: short links, QR codes, bio pages, and the URLs, titles, and settings associated with them.
• Click and scan analytics: when someone clicks one of your links or scans a QR code, we log the timestamp, approximate country/city (derived from IP address), device type, operating system, browser, and referring URL. The raw IP address is used only to derive location and is not stored long-term.
• Usage data: pages visited within the app, actions taken (links created, QR codes downloaded), and session information.

3. Link analytics

When someone follows one of your Blot short links (or scans a QR code / bio link), their IP address is transmitted to ip-api.com, a third-party geolocation service, in order to derive an approximate country and city for your analytics. The IP address itself is not stored — only the resulting country and city are saved against the click event.

4. AI features

Inkwell Blot offers AI-powered features including bio text generation and slug suggestions. When you use these features, the relevant input (such as your LinkedIn/Instagram profile URLs and bio text, or a long URL) is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate results. This data is used solely to produce the response and is not used to train AI models. We encourage you not to include sensitive personal information in AI prompts.

5. How we use your data

• To operate and deliver the service (redirecting short links, displaying bio pages).
• To provide you with analytics about your links and QR codes.
• To process subscription payments via our payment provider (Stripe).
• To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset, link health alerts).
• To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the platform (hosting, payment processing, email delivery, AI generation). Each provider is bound by a data processing agreement.

8. Data retention

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. Click analytics are retained for up to 24 months. When you delete your account, all personal data and content is permanently deleted within 30 days.

9. Your rights & data deletion

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time.

To delete your account and all associated data: go to your account menu inside the app and choose "Delete Account". This permanently deletes your profile, links, QR codes, bio pages, and analytics. Alternatively, email privacy@inkwelltools.com and we will process your request within 30 days.
